Cucumber & Tea Peel
 
Ingredients
 
  • 1 small Cucumber, peeled and seeded
  • 1 ounce Aloe Vera Gel
  • 2 ounces Green Tea
  • 2 ounces Chamomile Tea
  • 1 tbsp Gelatin
  •  
    Instructions
     
    • Work the cucumber in a blender, to make a fine puree. Then, strain the puree through a sieve. Set it aside.
    • Mix together green tea and chamomile tea and heat them well. Now, add plain gelatin and keep on heating it, till the time the jelly melts.
    • Now, pour the tea-gelatin mix in a bowl and add the cucumber juice and aloe vera.
    • Set the peel aside for somewhere around 25 minutes, so that it thickens, but is not completely set.
    • Apply a thin layer of the peel on your face, let it set for 15 to 20 minutes (or until dry) and then rinse off with warm water.
     
    Natural Foot Care Products
     
            The skin on your feet needs to be taken care of in the same manner as the skin of your face. You need to clean it, exfoliate it and moisturize it like you would any other part of your body. There are a number of foot care products available in the market. But you can make your own natural foot care products at home. These products are simple and easy to make and use naturally available material.     Lime Cleanser

    Ingredients:
     
    • Paper towels
    • Lemon juice
     
            Take a bowl and mix half water and half lemon juice. Then dip paper towels into the mixture and apply on to your feet. This will soften, smooth and remove odors from your feet. This recipe does not contain preservatives and requires refrigeration. The shelf life of this product is approximately one week.

    Strawberry Foot Exfoliator

    Ingredients:
     
    • 8 strawberries
    • 2 tablespoons of olive oil or safflower oil
    • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
    • ½ teaspoon finely chopped almonds
     
            Mix all the ingredients together and make a paste of it. Do not blend too much as the strawberries have a lot of water and this will make the paste too watery. Massage it onto your feet, rinse off and dry your feet. This foot care product has no preservatives and has to be refrigerated. Shelf Life is about one week.

    Relaxing Foot Lotion Recipe

    Ingredients:
     
    • 1 tablespoon almond oil
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon wheat germ oil
    • 12 drops eucalyptus essential oil or fragrance oil
     
            Put all these ingredients into a dark colored bottle and shake it well. As and when you require rub into the feet and heels. Store in cool dry place. This recipe does not contain preservatives and requires refrigeration. Shelf life is approximately one week.

    Dandruff
     
            In the present times, dandruff has become a common hair problem, which bothers many people. Characterized as excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp, it can either be chronic in nature or caused by certain specific triggers. One of the most common triggers of dandruff is frequent exposure to extreme heat and cold, apart from chronic constipation, stress, fatigue, pollution and excessive use of hair styling products. The unusually large amount of flaking - one of the main symptoms of dandruff, might be accompanied by redness and irritation as well. If you are also suffering from dandruff and want to explore ways to get rid of it, the following lines will come handy.

    How To Get Rid Of Dandruff
     
    • Tea tree oil, with anti-fungal properties, serves as one of the best cures for dandruff. Mix a few drops of the oil to your hair oil and massage your scalp with the same, once every week.
    • Dilute Cider vinegar, by adding one part of the vinegar to three parts of water. After shampooing your hair and rinsing off the lather well, use this solution for the final rinse.
    • Massage your scalp with 4-5 tbsp of warm wheat germ oil. Now, wrap a warm towel around your head and keep it on for 30 minutes. Thereafter, rinse your hair thoroughly with water.
    • Get fresh Aloe Vera gel and apply it all over your scalp. After letting it sit for half an hour, wash your hair well.
    • Heat coconut oil slightly and massage your scalp with the same. Let the oil remain on the scalp overnight and wash your hair in the morning. Do this at least three times in a week.
    • In a cup of water, put 1 tsp fenugreek seeds and let them soak overnight. In the morning, drain the water and grind the seeds to a fine paste. Now, apply it all over the scalp, let it sit for 30 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.
    • Mix 10 grams black pepper powder, juice of 1 fresh lime and ¼ cup milk and rub into your scalp. After letting it sit for an hour, rinse off with water.
    • Take a mug of water and in it, add 1 tsp lime juice. Use this solution as the final rinse, after washing your hair with shampoo.
    • Massage your scalp with olive oil and let it remain overnight. Wash your hair in the morning.
    • In half a cup of coconut oil, add a few drops of rosemary oil. Massage your scalp with the oil and leave it overnight. In the morning, use warm water, to which lemon juice has been added, to rinse your hair.
    • Mix equal amount of lime juice and amla juice. Apply the solution to your scalp and let it sit overnight. Wash hair in the morning.
    • Take ½ cup of curd (yoghurt) and beat it well. Now, apply the curd all over your scalp, massaging gently. Keep on for half an hour and then rinse off with warm water.

            The most effective way to get healthy hair is to have a healthy diet. Lustrous, healthy hair is a result of a healthy body and a result of eating healthy food. Beautiful, healthy hair is a result of a healthy diet. There are certain foods that make your hair healthy and strong. Incorporate these foods in your day-to-day diet and you will notice the difference in your hair within a few weeks.
     
    • Water: One-fourth of the weight, of a strand of hair, is made up of water. Water makes your hair supple and soft therefore you should have enough water. Do not wait till you are thirsty keep drinking water. If you thirsty it means that you have lost water and your body is asking you to replenish the loss. Water keeps your hair silky and shiny as well.
    • Protein: A diet for healthy hair should be rich in protein as hair consists of primarily protein. Proteins will give your hair more strength and will prevent it from breaking and splitting. Eat protein rich foods like fish, meat, milk, cheese and cereals.
    • Minerals: A variety of minerals are important for healthy hair. Iron carries oxygen to the hair. Insufficient iron will starve the hair follicles of oxygen. Include red meat and dark green vegetable in your diet. Zinc prevents hair loss. Meat and seafood have a high content of zinc. To improve the natural color of your hair, incorporate copper in your diet. Fresh vegetables, nuts, seeds, meat and liver are high in copper.
    • Vitamins: You must ensure that you diet has all the necessary vitamins that help in the growth of healthy hair. Vitamin A makes your scalp healthy and is good for your skin as well. It is found in vegetables especially carrots. Vitamin B and C for hair growth and hair color. Include these vitamins in your diet will ensure that your hair is healthy and does not split.
